Meet Jess

I’m Jess, the heart and lens behind Raising Sage Photography.

I’m a photographer based in St. John’s, Newfoundland, drawn to the real, emotional, and beautifully human parts of a story. Whether I’m photographing a family, a grad, a brand, or an intimate celebration, my goal is always the same: to create images that feel honest, warm, and alive.

My sessions are relaxed, gently guided, and built around connection. You don’t have to show up knowing how to pose or what to do with your hands. I’ll help with the location, movement, prompts, and little details so the experience feels natural and true to you.

I love the in-between moments. The laughter, the softness, the way people reach for each other, the way confidence starts to come through when someone feels safe enough to be themselves. Those are the images I’m always looking for.

Raising Sage Photography began as a creative outlet and grew into something much more meaningful. The name comes from my daughter, Sage, and it also holds so much of what I value: reflection, presence, creativity, and the beauty of becoming more fully ourselves.

I photograph branding sessions, family and lifestyle sessions, grads, intimate events, elopements, and meaningful moments throughout St. John’s and surrounding areas.
